Trained Safe Harbour locations are equipped with the knowledge to better understand their diverse workforce and improve their service to diverse customers and clients.

RONA, TD Canada Trust, Royal Bank, Vancity, London Drugs, The Sandman Suites and the David Suzuki Foundation are a sample of our Safe Harbour-certified locations committed to Safe Harbour across 29 BC communities. They are leaders in their commitment to providing an inclusive workplace environment and promoting diversity in their communities by following these three simple commitments:

Bullet Equitable Treatment for All: Welcoming all clients and/or customers in a respectful manner. If a concern is expressed regarding a lack of respectful treatment, employers and staff take steps to address it.

BulletAn Immediate Safe Place: for someone experiencing discrimination in or near the worksite which may include a place to sit, a glass of water, a phone to use, and access to a list of resources.

BulletPrepared Employees and Worksites: Preparing all staff to implement these commitments.

Safe Harbour Locations offer immediate and temporary safe refuge from mistreatment. Staff are also prepared to respond to discrimination. Please see Anti-Discrimination Responses for more details.
